Try your hand at capturing the beautiful scenery of The Fells onto canvas in this beginner plein air painting class for adults. Led by local artist, Debbie Campbell, this course will cover the basics of plein air painting where artists will learn about color, composition and perspective. Take advantage of the magnificent landscapes of The Fells grounds and learn about using light and color to create form in either oil or acrylic paints. We will meet three consecutive Wednesdays.
Debbie Campbell is a landscape oil painter focusing on the Lake Sunapee Region as well as NH seascapes and animals. As a plein air painter she is fortunate to live in the inspiring and beautiful Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire. Water is one of her favorite subjects to paint from a peaceful mountain lake to the engaging seacoast surf. Debbie loves painting outdoors and finds unlimited inspiration from the incredible beauty in nature. She feels what makes painting outside so exciting is the energy and the press of time to capture the ever-changing light. She is fascinated by the light as it dances and reflects on the beauty that surrounds us. She prefers to paint in oil because of the richness of color and the flexibility of this medium.
