Group Tours

The John Hay Estate at The Fells offers a variety of ways in which your group may visit. 

Self Guided Group Tours

May 25 through Columbus Day

General admission fees apply and advance scheduling is not required for groups of less than 20 who wish to self-guide. Self-guiding groups of 20 or more visitors should book their visit at least one week in advance.

Admission fee includes historic tours of the Main House (when open), and self-guided tours of the gardens and John Hay Ecology Trail. Public guided tours of the gardens are offered at 12:30pm, Wednesday through Sunday, from July 1 through August. Garden tours are open to self-guiding groups.

Self Guided Group Tour Fees

Private Group Tours

Private tours of the gardens, house or in combination are available to groups of 10 or more Monday through Friday, June through August. (See chart below for detailed scheduling information.) Garden tours are led by a member of the Landscape staff and house tours by the Education Director. A minimum of two weeks advance registration is requested with a deposit of 50% received 7 days prior to the date of tour. Prearranged tours proceed rain or shine and are conducted on weekdays.

Private Group Tour Fee's

• Private House Tours - $15 per person 10 person minimum $150

• Private Garden Tours - $15 per person 10 person minimum $150

• Private House and Garden Tours $18 per person 10 person minimum $180

Snacks and cold drinks are available at The Fells Gift Shop when the Main House is open. We invite visitors to bring lunch to enjoy on the shaded veranda. There are no trash disposal facilities, please carry out all trash.
