The women of the Hay family who summered at The Fells too often take second place to John Hay in our story. But John Hay's wife and daughters, daughter-in-law, and others were in their unique ways representative of the changing roles of women. Using vintage photos and letters of the Hay family as illustration, Liz Tentarelli will talk about the women's lives and personalities as far as we can know them, their connections to The Fells and to the wider women’s rights movement of the late 19th and early 20th century. Members: free, non-members: $10 per person. Pre-registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome! To register, please email info@thefells.org
