Steve and Sharon Wood of Claremont will present “Abraham and Mary Lincoln: the Long and the Short of It," a living history program set in 1861. Having only recently arrived in Washington, the Lincolns are seen spending some quiet time together, reminiscing about the distinctly different paths that led each of them to Springfield, Illinois, where they met, married and began their family. That was also where Lincoln met John Hay, and their unique relationship began. After the program, the Woods will step out of character and answer audience questions.
Historical presenters specializing in 19th century American history, Steve and Sharon Wood have been researching and portraying the Lincolns since 1995. They are members of the Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP) and the New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance (NHSA). Information about their programs is available on their Facebook page, Telling His-Story (and Hers).
Meets in the Pavilion. Light refreshments will be served. Members: $25 per person, Non-members $30 per person. Advance registration is requested but walk-ins are welcome.
